What do you think that is gray hat seo? Is it really a Black Hat SEO? No! It is not actually a black hat SEO although many call Gray Hat SEO to be future BLACK HAT SEO while others call it White Hat SEO.
What you should know is that Gray Hat SEO are not actually White Hat SEO or Black Hat SEO, but they can be regarded as Black Hat SEO in some way.
Now, let me explain all the three below

1) White Hat SEO:
White Hat SEO are those SEO techniques that doesn’t cut across the rules and guidelines of search engine.

2) Gray Hat SEO:
Gray Hat SEO are those SEO techniques that are neither white Hat SEO nor Black Hat SEO. It might get your site to suffer penalty from search engines but will not get your site banned

3) Black Hat SEO:
Black Hat SEO will get your site instant ban from search engines.

Gray Hat SEO techniques are methods that are a bite risky although it doesn’t totally flout search engine rules and guidelines. If Gray Hat SEO can get your site penalty in search engines then what are those techniques that are regarded as gray hat seo?

Here are 4 Gray Hat SEO techniques that could get your site penalized in google.

1) Paid Review:
This goes to marketers of different sorts of products and services who pay people to review their products. This some bends search engines rules. And could hurt your site ranking.

2) Duplicating Content:
Posting duplicate content on your website is totally not advisable. Even when the content owner allows you to do such thing. This is pure Gray Hat SEO and it could get you penalized.

3) Automating Your Social Media:
Many website owners use some software programs that make it possible for them to get hundred of facebook and twitter followers. These software are referred to as MASS FRIEND REQUESTS. When you do this sort of thing, you think that you are that popular. Search engines are not what they were years ago, they’ve really improved and they could spot you out and get your site penalized.

4) Multiple Account On Social Bookmarking Sites:
Many create multiple accounts and use those accounts to promote their product and service or they will pay people to suggest their site to others on social bookmarking sites. Here Google may not ban your site but that bookmarking site will certainly ban you.

All the above are all Gray Hat SEO. As l said they will not get your site banned but could get it penalized. They are not bad but just risky because you don’t know when Google, Bing, Yahoo may change their Algorithm and your site will be among the victims.
