WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO)
Is a specialised agency of United Nation (UN) that is concerned with public health. It was established on 7th April 1948. It has been signed by all 61 countries of the United Nations by 22 July 1946. WHO currently defend its roles in public health as follows:
FUNCTIONS WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO)
- Monitoring the health situation and assessing health trends
- Setting norms and standards and promoting and monitoring their implementation
- providing leadership on matters critical to health and engaging in partnerships where joint action is needed
Providing technical support and building institution capacity
They help in the translation and dissemination of valuable knowledge concerning health.
