Where is The First Place to Drill Oil in The World?

The first place oil was drilled was in China and the first modern oil drill took place in USA.
On March, 1829, the first oil well took place in Burkesville, KY in the USA. The man behind the whole oil well drill was by Martin Beaty.
It was belived that Martin Beaty struck oil when he was drilling brine.

Lillian, let me help you here. About the first oil wells which started in China. It was drilled about 347 CE and the oil well had depths of about 240m (790ft). This was the first oil well in the world before the first oild well took place in USA.
