Veteran Actor, Sir Roger Moore popularly known as "James Bond" has died at 89
His death was announced in a statement released by his family on twitter on Tuesday.
"With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated" the family tweeted.
According to the statement, 'he died after a short but brave battle with cancer'.
American Veteran Actor, Sir Roger Moore who is popularly known as "James Bond" is dead!
Roger's family confirmed the news on twitter on Tuesday.
"With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated" the tweet read.
A statement accompanying the tweet said he died after 'a short but brave battle with cancer in Switzerland'.
"Our thoughts must now turn to supporting Kristina at this difficult time, and in accordance with out father's wishes there will be a private burial in Monaco' the statement said.
Sir Roger George Moore was born on October 1927. He was the third actor to play the British secret agent James Bond in seven feature films between 1973 and 1985 and Simon Templar in The Saint between 1962 and 1969, according to Wikipedia.
