He Was Caught With 9.37kg of Drugs Hidden in FoodStuffs

Jude Izuchukwu, 38 year old man who hail from Anambra was caught at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by officials of NDLEA

He was carrying 9.37kg of cannabis hidden in the dried fish, dried bitter leaf, crayfish, melon and other local food spices which he was travelling with.

During a mass search Izuchukwu was caught red handed while attempting to board an Ethiopian flight to China.

As he was being interviewed, he poured out all blames on poverty which he believe has led him into smuggling drugs and said he had no choice but to join the trade since his clothes shop on Lagos Island packed up after he was duped of N5 million.

He also said he and his family have been living from hand to mouth since then.

The NDLEA Airport Commander however said he was happy Jude was caught in Nigeria because he might have faced death penalty in China.
