The news has beeb form at Wembley today few minutes after Manchester United won the 2016 FA Cup that Jose Mourinho is now the new Red Devils manager and that Louis Van Gaal have been sacked Louis van Gaal
Jose Mourinho was the former Chelsea Manager. Rumour has it that Mourinho's appointment was due to be announced on Monday, but has been prematurely leaked to the press and with the Portuguese's arrival now an open secret.
This means that the United will now have to accelerate their timeline on Van Gaal's exit
despite the Dutchman having just led them to glory in the FA Cup.
Minutes before the news broke, Van Gaal was seen celebrating the win with his players, and shared in an interview, “It’s fantastic to win this title for the club, for the
fans and also for me because now I’ve won a cup in four countries and not many managers can say that so I’m happy."
Manchester United fans are by and large excited about the prospect of seeing Jose Mourinho at the helm of affairs with many believing that he really should have been named Manager earlier when David Moyes was appointed Sir Alex Ferguson's successor. There are of course those who
worry about the Portuguese's lack of faith in youth and approach of spending big money to buy big name players instead of developing talent, and worry what will happen to the tens of youngsters that Van Gaal blooded into United's first team this season, including the lines of Marcus Rashford and FA Cup hero Jesse Lingard.
retired, that is one aspect of their play that should improve. Many also wonder what Mourinho's
appointment will mean for Ryan Giggs, who is unlikely to be excited at the prospect of becoming the Portuguese's assistant, and whether this will finally signal the end of the
long running relationship he has shared with United's fans.
