United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (Unicef)
Is another special agency of the united nation organization set up to improve the health and welfare of the children all over the world. It was founded in 11th Dec. 1946 at the New York City head quarters by Anthony Lake.
Their functions are as follows 1. To improve the nutrition of under-nourished children 2. To feed destitute children 3. To provide for the emergency needs of children in devastated areas 4. To supply vaccines or equipment to prevent or control disease that specifically affect children such as whooping cough, polio mellitus etc.
