Tutorial Title: How to Create An Invisible Folder in Windows Tutorial Section: Technoloy Tutorial Sub-section: Computer I know you must have wondered how an invisible folder is created? You must know that there are difference between invisible folder and what we are talking about now an invisible folder and not a hidden folder. The method is actually quite simple. Others can't see my files when I make them invisible. Totally invisible. Nobody could see it until the folder is highlighted. This method works better in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, because in XP there's no outline for an invisible folder. The folder is totally invisible with no noticeable outline or any other characteristics which makes it visible. Here's how you make an "invisible" folder. Step 1. Create a new folder. Step 2. Right-click on the folder and select 'rename' from context menu. Step 3. Rename the folder with the characters 0160 while pressing and holding the Alt key. Step 4. Right-click the folder and click Properties. Step 5. Click the Customize tab. Step 6. Under the Folder Icons and click Change Icon button. Step 7. Choose the blank icon (which is invisible) as shown below. Step 8: Now, tick "Also apply this template to all subfolders" Step 8. Click OK button. Step 9. From folder Properties click Apply and OK buttons. The best way to keep a file secure is by making it invisible and also hidden at the same time. This also works for desktop shortcuts, not just folders. Note: Other people can find your folder only when they change the view. Meaning, the folder you have created would leave an empty space in-between folders if, and only if, you didn't make it hidden |

I dont think the invisible folder is the best way to protect folder like you claimed. Someone who is mean on stealing information from your PC will still access the folder. I think protecting it with a password is the best.
